Volunteer Cleaning and Classroom Setup (non-paid volunteer role)
Collaborates with: Marifah School and Stittsville Muslim Association (SMA) Admins

Our vision is to nurture compassionate, knowledgeable, and morally grounded individuals who contribute positively to society. Our goals include academic proficiency, Islamic values integration, student well-being, cultural diversity celebration, community engagement, and continuous improvement.

Volunteer Cleaning and Classroom Setup Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Cleaning and Setup:
    • Perform daily cleaning activities, including vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness in classrooms and common areas.
    • Arrange tables and chairs in classrooms for the next day’s classes.
  2. Thursday Evening Major Cleaning:
    • Thoroughly clean the prayer hall (Unit D) and community room (Unit C) in preparation for Friday prayers.
    • Clean washrooms, fold furniture for comprehensive vacuuming, and set up classroom furniture for Friday morning classes.
    • Dispose of garbage and maintain cleanliness in all areas.
  3. Friday Half-Day School Operation:
    • Coordinate with SMA administrators to ensure the facility is ready for Friday prayers.
    • Assist in the setup and arrangement of spaces for Friday prayers.
  4. Sunday Evening Major Cleaning:
    • Conduct a comprehensive cleaning of classrooms and common areas similar to Thursday evenings.
    • Set up classroom furniture after cleaning for the upcoming week’s classes.
  5. Collaboration with Stittsville Muslim Association (SMA):
    • Respect and adhere to the guidelines and requirements set by SMA, the premises’ owner, especially for Friday prayers.
    • Coordinate cleaning schedules and activities to align with SMA’s facility usage needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks effectively and with attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual for scheduled cleaning sessions.
  • Physical fitness to handle routine cleaning activities and room setup tasks.
  • Respectful and collaborative attitude when working with other volunteers and school administrators.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Marifah School and SMA
  • Self-driven and self-motivated and being able to work without supervision
