Position Title: Daycare / Preschool Care Provider – Occasional  (Temporary)
Reports to: Principal

Care Provider Responsibilities:

1. Childcare and Supervision:
   • Provide nurturing and attentive care for preschool-aged children in the daycare setting.
   • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children during all activities.
2. Islamic Values Integration:
   • Infuse Islamic teachings into daily routines and activities, fostering a foundation of Islamic values among young learners.
   • Create an environment that reflects Marifah School’s commitment to Islamic principles.
3. Daily Activities Planning:
   • Plan and implement age-appropriate and engaging activities, considering the developmental needs of preschool-aged children.
   • Encourage creative expression, socialization, and learning through play.
4. Nutrition and Health:
   • Oversee mealtime and snack activities, ensuring children receive nutritious and balanced meals.
   • Monitor and maintain a clean and hygienic environment, following health and safety guidelines.
5. Parental Communication:
   • Establish open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on their child’s daily activities, progress, and well-being.
   • Collaborate with parents to create a supportive and enriching experience for each child.
6. Cultural and Religious Celebrations:
   • Plan and participate in cultural and religious celebrations to introduce young learners to Islamic and diverse cultures.
7. Classroom Management:
   • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes respect and cooperation among children.
   • Implement effective behavior management strategies suitable for preschool-aged children.
8. Professional Development:
   • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and care.
   • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall daycare/preschool experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or equivalent qualification.
• 5 years’ experience in providing ECE in Canada
• Professional and respectful attitude with parents, colleagues and administration
• Proficient in English language (oral and written). Fluency additionally in Arabic and/or French is preferred
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Willingness to be part of a collaborative educational team.
• In-depth understanding and commitment to Islamic values.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in providing care and creating a positive environment for young children.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
